Many times in our life, we tend to find ourselves in situations when we need our battery to give us full support. To know which apps are draining it the most, find battery power usage of individual apps in Windows 10 to disable them in times like these.
Windows 8/8.1 and Windows 10 are designed in a way that they put more pressure on your laptop’s battery than any previous Windows did. This is partly because of so much that is going on in its background. Multiple app refreshes, automatic updates, notifications and what not is always at the back of your Windows’s mind.
Every electrical component has a life. Your laptop’s battery is no different. In most cases, it tends to start faltering after 4-6 months of use. It no longer supports the long periods it could previously without having to take a breather. In Windows 10, you can disable fast startup and stop apps running in the background to optimize your battery’s life. There’s also another way through which you can give your battery a helping hand.
Windows 10 comes in with a nifty feature that allows it to monitor how much each individual app that you’ve used in the last 24 hours or so has been affecting your battery. This allows you to either make a decision on the way you use that app or you can disable it completely for your battery’s sake. It also provides you some other interesting statistics reflecting on what has been pestering your laptop’s battery the most.
Steps to find battery power usage of individual apps in Windows 10:
- Open Settings app.
- Click on System: Display, notifications, apps, power.
- From the left vertical menu, click on battery saver.
- Click on Battery use below Overview.
